Diamond powder is mainly used for grinding and polishing and the control of particle size is particularly important. As long as there are oversized coarse particles, the workpiece will be scratched, so that the work of the previous process is abandoned, so the quality inspection of the powder is an important link to ensure the quality of the powder product.  

The following figure shows the fine powder of a certain size with good effect. We used this batch of fine powder to produce ceramic diamond grinding wheel, which was well received by American customers:

As can be seen from the figure, the particle shape of the powder approximately spherical accounted for a large proportion, the overall concentration of high, thick particles, relatively high strength (high strength of the powder under the microscope, good transparency, the core transparent, surrounded by black edge outline, low strength of the powder, the whole is black. The strength of thin sheet is also relatively low, fragile, but relatively sharp). The distribution width of particle size should be narrower, the better, because the wider the particle size composition, the larger the size of large particles allowed, easy to cause scratches.

Moresuperhard will control the stability of raw materials through a variety of testing instruments, including laser particle analyzer, image particle analyzer, Raman, etc. 

Before using, every 5000 carats of samples will be manually tested by metallographic microscope again, so as to ensure the product stability of each batch of our grinding wheel. However, testing is only a means, and we will still encounter various problems in our production. For example, for two different batches of diamonds, the grinding wheel made by the first batch is very good, but the hardness of the ring produced by the next batch may not meet the requirements due to shrinkage.

There are the same formula using the same pressure can not be pressed at all. What is more, diagonal cracks will appear directly after the suppression is completed. In order to fundamentally solve these problems caused by abrasives, it is necessary for diamond production factories to control the quality of raw materials and more stable production process from the source, and to truly be responsible for the quality of their own products.
